PRODUCT INFORMATION
No longer just Summertime Porch-and-Patio fare, wicker
furniture is weaving its way into all areas of the home. From Wicker Outlet LLC,
here are some tips on keeping wicker and rattan looking new for years:
WHAT IS INDOOR WICKER?
Wicker is not the name of a raw material.
It refers to a variety of vines, grasses and plants that are woven into
furniture. In fact, wicker
furniture can be made of practically any natural or man-made material that is
pliable and durable enough to be woven into furniture.
Some of the most of the prominent materials include Rattan, Cane, Bamboo,
Reed, Seagrass, Banana Leaf and Willow.

Use Krylon Interior/Exterior Enamel Spray Paint (Glossy White) to
touch up/freshen up white wicker. It
can be purchased at any hardware store. When spraying any paints and coatings,
be sure to follow instructions and apply outdoors. Be sure to cover any cement,
deck, lawn, etc. that is in the vicinity.

Clean wicker prior to storing for the winter.
Store wicker indoors. If
this is not possible, store close to house and cover with outdoor furniture
covers.

WHAT IS INDOOR RATTAN?
Rattan is a
member of the palm family.
It is durable, versatile and grows as a climbing vine in the jungles of
South East Asia. Strength and durability make rattan pole (sections of the full vine) an excellent framing material. The vine is
comprised of an inner core which is shred long and slender and is used the weave
around the frame. The
rattan pole is bent into shape to make the frames.
Mature rattan is harvested; it is cut near the bottom, but is not
uprooted. In this way, it still lives and grows again.

WHAT IS
WICKER/RATTAN OUTDOOR?
Outdoor can be used completely
outside on a patio, deck, or near a pool. It can also be used on screened
and covered porches as well as indoors. Outdoor wicker and rattan is made
of vinyl or loom which provide maximum protection against the weather.
Frames are made of rustproof hand-welted aluminum finished with a baked-on
overcoat. Vinyl is made of high quality, UV resistant, extruded resins
hand woven over an aluminum frame.
WHAT IS
WICKER/RATTAN LIMITED OUTDOOR?
Limited outdoor can be used on
screened and covered porches. It cannot be used completely outdoors, but
can be used indoors. Limited outdoor wicker and rattan is real wood.
Frames are constructed of sturdy, maintenance-free, non-corrosive wicker and/or
rattan. After the wicker/rattan frames are manufactured, the pieces are
sealed in a three-step treatment process to seal every pore and form a flexible
coating for moisture resistance. This advanced technology allows the
frames to resist moisture and provide maximum protection against the weather.
Loom, constructed from a specially treated wood-based composite, is woven
over steel and loomed into sheets, attached to the frame and finished with a
UV resistant outdoor finish. Because these materials are all man-made,
they are able to withstand the elements.

WHAT IS ALUMINUM?
Aluminum frames feature the
highest quality, heaviest gauge extruded aluminum with reinforced internal walls
for extra support. Each frame is hand-welded using 360 degree heli-arc
welding technology polished prior to finishing.
Rehau Raucord fiber, a
superior-quality polyethylene-based fiber characterized by high flexibility and
tensile strength is used. The extrusion process creates a synthetic fiber which is
completely colored throughout, smudge-proof and resistant to temperature
variations. It is extremely durable, as evidenced by its UV and weather
resistance.

solid aluminum tube and stainless steel hardware. The aluminum is
polished and washed in an acid solution, dried in an oven, cooled, and then
powder-coated.
CAST ALUMINUM CARE

Use a damp cloth with mild soap and water to clean the Aluminum

is tempered and can be
cleaned with standard glass cleaner. Do not use HOT water on
glass.
WHAT IS WROUGHT IRON?
Wrought iron is an
iron
alloy with a very low
carbon content, in
comparison to
steel, and has
fibrous
inclusions, known as
slag. This is what
gives it a "grain" resembling wood, which is visible when it is etched or
bent to the point of failure. Wrought iron is tough, malleable, ductile and
easily
welded.
Table and chair frames are dipped
in a zinc phosphate bath and then E-coated to help create a weather
resistant coating. A colored powder-coating finish is applied and
baked at 210o C onto the iron
for strong color and protection.
WROUGHT IRON CARE
FRAME CARE 21 SERIES
·
Wrought iron chairs and table under-carriage can
be washed with mild soap and water, only. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
For maximum protection against UV
light, treat frames with liquid
wax, annually. Do not use any chemicals or abrasives to clean furniture as these may affect the finish. When not in
use, it is
strongly recommended that tables and frames be covered or stored out of the elements. These actions will help
protect your furniture and prolong its original
appearance.
WHAT IS
TEAK?
Teak is known for its quality,
durability and beauty. Teak is a very hard, densely grained wood with
high oil content. The unique combination of these characteristics
makes teak naturally resistant to moisture, rot, warping, shrinking,
splintering, insects, fungus, marines bores, and termites, making it the
ideal material for outdoor furniture.
TEAK CARE
·
Due to teak woods high oil content and
density, the grain will not open or split and the texture will remain even
after years of continued exposure. The only
maintenance recommended is an occasional cleansing with a soft bristle
brush, and mild detergent and water blend.
STONE TOP CARE
·
Our Stone Tops are made of natural stone, hand inlaid, then polished
and cleared coated. Each one is unique, varying in color and sheen.
Normal
characteristics include discolorations, hi-low areas or waviness, polishing
swirls, and glossy or flat finishes.
·
Clean only with mild soap and water or approved stone
care products. Never use ammonia, chlorine or abrasive cleaners.
Also, NEVER place hot, cold or
moist items directly on stone surface.
All spills should be wiped up and dried immediately. Moisture can be
absorbed into the stone top resulting in a water
ring. We recommend
resealing, yearly, with an approved stone sealing product. Our Stone
Tops are shipped crated, but can still be broken, if dropped,
rolled or
mishandled.
